Baisakhi and Yellow Day Celebrations
On the occasion of Baisakhi & Ambedkar Jayanti, a Special Assembly was organised by Punjabi and Music Department on 12th April, 2024 at State Public School Shahkot under the able guidance of Dr. Narotam Singh and Dr. Gagandeep Kaur, President and Vice-President of Group of State Public Schools respectively. The assembly started with a shabad 'Wah Wah Guru Gobind Singh Ji' to seek the blessings of the Almighty. This shabad was sung by students of class XII H. After which the students conducted the regular features of the assembly like thought of the day, amazing facts and News headlines. A speech was delivered by Rajdeep Kaur and Angel which was followed by a quiz organised by Savleen Kaur of class XII H to explain the significance of the day and highlight the festival of Baisakhi. Another shabad ‘Deh Shiva Bar Mohe’ was chanted by students of class VII. Harleen and Manroop of class IX sang a beautiful song ‘Paani Panja Dariavan Vala’. Jasraj of class III and Amarpreet of class XII recited beautiful poems.All these activities made the students aware about the historical importance of this day and motivated them to make their country prosperous.
On the same day, there was a celebration of Yellow Day by Pre Primary Department in which they performed many activities. Lunch boxes were filled with bananas, custard, mangoes, dhokla etc.Students looked very beautiful in yellow attire and added charm to the day by their wonderful performances. They did colouring activity also. Ms. Karamjeet Kaur enlightened the students with the importance of celebrating Baisakhi and said, “Baisakhi is not only a harvest festival but also marks the starting of traditional second month of new year which begins in the month of Chaitra.” At the last, our respected Principal Sir, Mr. Kanwar Neel Kamal appreciated the efforts of all the participants and congratulated all the students.
